Box Score SAULT STE, MARIE, Mich. — The Purdue University Northwest women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Lake Superior State University on Friday inside the Arbuckle Student Activity Center.
Sienna Lopez (Glendale Heights, Ill.) and
Patricia Dizon (Arlington Heights, Ill./St. Viator) earned a hard-fought victory at No. 1 Doubles with a thrilling 7-6 (8-6) win over LSSU's Nadege Koua and Milena Baigorria.
In Singles play,
Oona Kintscher (Berlin, Germany) captured the first set at No. 2 Singles over Maddie Whipp 6-3, before Whipp rebounded to edge Kintscher in the deciding third set, 10-8.
Hayley Tsuen (Johannesburg, South Africa) nearly pulled out a second-set victory at No. 3 Singles in a 6-1, 7-5 defeat to LSSU's Milena Baigorria.
Round out the PNW lineup in singles competition were
Sienna Lopez (Glendale Heights, Ill.) in the top flight, followed by
Salma Raslan (Cairo, Egypt) (No. 4),
Nicole Uzcategui (Doral, Fla.) (No. 5) and
Mar Vilanova (Girona, Spain) (No. 6).
