Gabel's season-low round helps PNW Women to 4th-place finish

QUINCY, Ill. – Miriah Gabel (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington High School Central) carded a season-best single round score of 82 on Day 2 of the Quincy Invitational, hosted by Quincy University, to help lead the Purdue Northwest women's golf team to a fourth-place finish.
 
Gabel's final-round mark was nine strokes better than she shot on Day 1 for a total of 173 (91-82) and a tie for 11th place in the individual competition.
 
Libby Huston (Yale, Mich./Yale) earned the best two-day score on the team with a 167 (79-88) and finished in seventh place.

Taylor Martin (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger HS) improved upon her first-round score of 90 with an 85 and an individual placing of 14th overall.
 
Kaitlyn Valiska (New Lenox, Ill.) and Catherine Brzycki (Griffith, Ind.) collected identical 91 scores in Round 2. Valiska finished 16th with an overall score of 177 (86-91) while Brzycki came in 20th with a 186 (95-91).
 
William Woods University's Maria Zrodowska took low-medalist with a two-day total of 151 (73-78). Lewis University took the team title with a score of 659 (320-339), which was two strokes better than William Woods' total of 661 (325-336).

PNW has a 10-day break before taking part in the GLIAC Championship hosted at the Stonehedge North Golf Course on Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24 in Augusta, Mich.
