GLIAC — The Purdue Northwest softball team was picked sixth in the 2022 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Preseason Poll, announced Thursday by conference headquarters. PNW received 17 points in the poll conducted by the league's head coaches.
Fresh off its deepest postseason run, the PNW softball team is gearing up for its season opener next week at the Lewis Dome Invitational. The Pride will play six games in four days against DII regional opponents. PNW's home opener is slated for March 23 against Lewis at Dowling Park.
Grand Valley State (49) was picked as the GLIAC favorite with a maximum seven first-place votes. Northwood (42), Saginaw Valley (37), Davenport (30) and Wayne State (27) round out the top five teams. Parkside (13) was slotted seventh while Ferris State (10) was picked eighth.
