The Purdue Northwest women's basketball team started the season on the winning front after defeating Illinois-Springfield in Day 1 on the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover on Friday afternoon, 79-71.

- Junior Dash Shaw (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) led Purdue Northwest with a game-high 27 points going 9-of-13 from the field and went a perfect 9-of-9 at the free-throw line. She also grabbed nine rebounds.
- Junior Tadriana Heard added 19 points for the Pride, she went 7-of-13 from the floor and 2-of-3 from deep. She also snatched eight rebounds and dished out a team-high three assists.

- Ariyah Douglas led Illinois-Springfield with 19 points going 7-of-16 from the field.
- The Prairie Stars ended the contest shooting 25-of-59 (42.4%) from the field and went 10-of-31 (32.3%) from deep.
