CHANNAHON, Ill. – The Purdue University Northwest men's and women's cross country teams both finished third at the St. Francis (IL) Twilight Invite, hosted Friday at Channahon Park. It was the first meet for both squads since Fall 2019.
PNW recorded a third-place finish in the Women's 5K race with a team score of 121 (1:40.24).
Christina Shaginaw led the Pride with a 19th-place finish and final time of 18:59.3.
Morgan Bartlett and
Megan Teitge finished back-to-back in 36th and 37th place, respectively.
Jazmin Grund,
Holly Shaginaw,
Daina Maleiska and
Peyton Westphal rounded out PNW's scoring lineup.
Additionally,
Juli Kroll ran for the Black & Gold at the season opener.
University of Chicago won the women's 5K race with 17 points and placed seven runners in the top 10 finishers. Host St. Francis finished second in the team results.

PNW finished third with 90 points in the Men's 5K meet, posting a total time of 1:20.09 and four runners landed among the top 20 scorers.
Freshman
Quinton Bock paced the Pride in 15th place with final time of 15:30.8.
Carter Leak and
Diego Gomez were close behind, finishing back-to-back in 23rd and 24th place.
Antonio Chapa and
Logan Russell logged a finish at 37th and 38th place, respectively, while
Eric Alegre and
Bruce Leipart rounded out PNW's top finishers.
Fernando Rosas also ran for the Pride.
St. Francis (24 points) claimed the team title with six of seven runners scoring in the top 10. UChicago finished second with 35 points.
