PRESEASON POLL
Purdue Northwest has been selected ninth in the 2021 GLIAC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll. Under head coach Jake Truty, PNW returns nearly its entire roster from last season – including nine individuals that started at least seven games. The Pride went 1-7-1 overall in the abbreviated spring campaign that featured conference games only.

SENIOR SEASON
The Pride's five seniors will lead the way, including Amanda Logan (Tinley Park, Ill.), Sydney Hanson (Alma, Mich.), Reannah Soto (Merrillville, Ind.), Kiana Chandler (Lowell, Ind.) and Haneen Abdulla (Crown Point, Ind.). The group has played together in nearly every game since joining the program and will be instrumental in PNW's growth this fall. Hanson is the team's leading scoring returner with six career goals. Logan anchors the defense as the squad's leading returner in minutes.

SCOUTING THE PRAIRIE STARS
UIS has a unique mix of newcomers and returning players with 14 newcomers and 13 returners. Eight of the returners hold at least two years of experience, including five players with three seasons on the roster.

Among the returners are starters Abby Dellamorte, last year's shots leader, Ally Lassetter, and Angela Dagnino. Allison Hackett is another returner who saw valuable minutes at the position last season.

Three goalkeepers are in the mix for playing time for UIS. The lone returner is Amanda Finnell, who started every game but two last season. She had the second-best GAA in program history with a 1.05 mark, and had a .750 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
PNW captured the lone previous match against UIS with a 1-0 victory in the 2018 home opener at Dowling Park. Sydney Hanson scored the game-winner in the 64th minute for her first collegiate goal.

LOOKING AHEAD
PNW will host its first six games of the season at Dowling Park with 12 total home contests on the schedule. The Pride will host Lewis University on Saturday, Sept. 4 with a 12 p.m. start time.
