Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ALLENDALE, Mich. – Purdue Northwest came up short in both games of Friday's road doubleheader against No. 14 Grand Valley State. The Pride fell 4-0 in Game 1 and 9-8 in the second game.

PNW (10-22, 7-14 GLIAC) will travel to Ferris State for another GLIAC matchup Saturday afternoon.

GAME 1: GVSU 4, PNW 0
Grand Valley's Hannah Beatus recorded a no-hitter in the first game while improving to 16-1 overall. The right-hander struck out nine and walked one. PNW also had a batter reach on an error as Beatus faced two above the minimum.

The Lakers scored twice in the first inning and that was all the offense they needed.

Jessica Weaver tossed Game 1 in the circle for the Pride, allowing just three earned runs on 10 hits. Weaver struck out a pair and only walked one batter.

GAME 2: GVSU 9, PNW 8
Down to the final out, Jocey Gault launched a three-run homer as the Pride tried to rally and nearly pulled off the upset in Game 2.

PNW trailed 4-0 after the first inning, but came back to even the score with four runs in the top of the third. Aubrey Shroyer got the Pride on the board with a sacrifice fly and then Ashley Bravo knocked in a pair of runs on a double to right field. Before the play was over, Bravo made an incredible read on the basepaths by taking third on the throw from the outfield and then she darted home and scored as the Lakers were distracted in the field.

The Lakers reclaimed the lead with a run in the bottom of the third and then tacked on four more in the fifth to take a 9-4 advantage. The Pride got a run back in the sixth when Sabryna Stanley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Unfortunately, the rally was cut short after a line drive turned into a double play.

Kiara Negron had two hits and reached base on a hit-by pitch. In addition, Madison Schultz recorded a base knock in the second game.
