HAMMOND, Ind. – Purdue Northwest women's volleyball celebrated Senior Day as
Danielle Fowler and
Abigail Negri suited up for the final time at the PNW Fitness & Recreation Center Saturday against Grand Valley State.
The visiting Lakers came out on top in three sets: 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.
Erica Brohm led PNW with 10 kills while
Autumn Beaudoin and
Bryanna Moonen finished with 6 and five, respectively. Brohm had four kills in each of the second and third sets.
Three players notched double-digit digs including Fowler with 13, Beaudoin with 12 and
Kenzie Duggan with 10. Negri logged a team-best 19 assists on the afternoon.
Entering next week's GLIAC Tournament, Fowler has appeared in 92 career matches with 280 sets played and nearly 900 career digs. She holds a career digs-per-set mark of 3.0. Negri has played in 41 matches with 119 sets played, averaging a career 4.6 assists per set with nearly 600 in her three-year career.
The opening set on Saturday featured five lead changes and seven ties as the Pride continued their solid play from the night before. However, the Lakers edged their way to a four-point victory and cruised the rest of the match.
NEXT UP
PNW will travel to University Center, Mich. for next week's GLIAC Tournament, hosted by Saginaw Valley State. The Pride will be the 12th seed and will play the fifth seed in Friday's Opening Round match.
