HAMMOND, Ind. – The Purdue Northwest baseball team fell 8-2 in the series finale against Grand Valley State on Sunday afternoon.
PNW led 2-0 after three complete innings, but the slump at the plate continued for the Black and Gold with all three of Sunday's hits coming off the bat of
Hunter Thorn.
Thorn went 3 for 4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs. The senior recorded a two-out RBI single in the first and a run-scoring triple in the third.
GVSU tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning and the Lakers added a run in each of the remaining frames. The visitors tallied 15 total hits in the contest.
Jackson Lund went four innings on the mound for the Pride. The right-hander allowed two earned on five hits and struck out five batters.
