DETROIT – Purdue Northwest traveled to Wayne State in GLIAC action and fell to the Warriors by a final score of 72-56 on Friday.

Wayne State used an early 12-2 run for a quick lead and led by as much as 26 in the first half after catching fire from beyond the arc. The Warriors went 7 of 11 from three-point range and built a 47-25 halftime advantage.
A three-pointer by Cooper and jumper from Barnard on back-to-back possessions brought the Pride to within 14 at the first media timeout of the second half. But, the deficit was insurmountable as the Warriors remained out in front by double digits the rest of the game.
"We got off to a rough start, and it was difficult to sustain any momentum we did get," PNW head coach
Boomer Roberts said. "We didn't handle and pass it well, and then our shots didn't fall. Credit to Wayne State, who was better than us tonight. We're looking forward to getting back after it tomorrow."
Darian Owens-White paced the Warriors with 19 points, while Avery Lewis notched a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
