EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Purdue University Northwest cross country teams raced at the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championships Saturday at Angel Mounds State Park.
 
On the men's side, PNW placed 18th out of 30 teams in the 10K race while finishing ahead of GLIAC opponents Parkside, Ferris State, Davenport and Lake Superior State. The top five PNW runners set a new school record in the 10K with a time of 33:13.2 (34:27 was the previous mark set in 2019). Senior Antonio Chapa placed 75th overall and set a new school record with a personal-best 32:32.6 to lead the Pride.
 
One the women's side, the Pride finished 23rd out of 30 teams in the 6K meet – ahead of league foes Davenport, Northwood and Lake Superior State. The entire top five in the scoring lineup set personal-best times, led by junior Christina Shaginaw's new school record of 22:27.2. Additionally, juniors Holly Shaginaw (23:25.5) and Morgan Bartlett (23:47.4) moved into fourth and fifth, respectively, on the school's all-time 6K performance list.
