The men's cross-country team opened its 2026 campaign Friday at the Lewis Early Bird Invitational in Romeoville, Illinois where they would take third place as a team. The Lions competed against a strong field, with freshman Danny Frevert leading the way with an 11th-place finish.

- Freshman Danny Frevert II (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) led the Lions, finishing 11th with a time of 20:24.8.
- Sophomore Kristofer Garner followed closely behind, placing 14th in 20:32.5.
- Sophomore Keaton Westley (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) crossed the finish line in 22nd with a time of 21:12.0.
- Senior Brennen Corregedore (Kapaa, Hawaii/Kauai) finished 23rd in 21:17.1.
- Junior Julio Herrera (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) rounded out the Lions' top five, placing 24th in 21:21.9.
- Senior Josh Tuck finished 27th with a time of 21:36.6.
- Freshman Brayden Prieskorn (China Township, Mich./St. Clair) placed 37th in 22:34.6.
- Freshman Jacob Hernandez (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) followed in 39th with a time of 22:43.0.
- Junior Luis Baez (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich Community) crossed in 44th at 23:04.4.
- Freshman Gabe Goral (Griffith, Ind./Griffith) finished 48th in 23:25.6.
- Junior Conor Gross (Du Quoin, Ill./Du Quoin) placed 52nd with a time of 23:51.1.
- Sophomore Gabriel Early (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) rounded out the Lions' runners, finishing 68th in 25:04.2.
