The Purdue Northwest men's tennis team traveled to Notre Dame (Ind.) to take on the Holy Cross Saints. The Pride (1-1) was able to take two single points in their 5-2 loss to the Saints (4-5).
Thomas Schultz (Grand Blanc, Mich.) took a hard-fought victory over Martin Fajardo with a deciding 10-point tiebreaker 3-6 6-4 10-5 in No. 6 singles action.
Miguel Agustin Flores Cepeda (Monterrey, Mexico) was able to sweep Karel Bloom 6-3 6-3 at the No. 1 singles position.
Despite losing the doubles point as a team, PNW took the No. 2-doubles flight with the tandem of
Luis Alvear (Manacor, Balearic Islands, Spain) and
Bjorgvin Juliusson (Reykjavik, Iceland) to a win by dropping Laurenz Flender and Karel Bloom 6-4.
