HOUGHTON, Mich. – Purdue Northwest earned its first win of the season with Sunday's 76-52 triumph over Michigan Tech inside SDC Gymnasium.
It was an all-around team effort and a dominant second-half performance for PNW, which recorded the program's largest margin of victory in a GLIAC road game. Sunday also marked the first victory over Michigan Tech since joining the league prior to the 2017-18 season.
PNW outscored Tech 47-22 and limited the Huskies to 29-percent shooting in the second half. The Pride shot a solid 54-percent clip over the final 20 minutes, including 5 of 10 (50%) from three-point range.
HEAD COACH BOOMER ROBERTS
"I'm really proud of our guys for the way we learned and grew from yesterday. For the most part, we communicated well and competed hard on the defensive end. Tech is tough to guard with their motion, but we locked in and did a good job. Tripps [
Gregory Boyle] led us on the defensive end, and Vince, Anthony and Logan were great on the glass. Offensively, we limited our turnovers and got to the line. AB and Vince were really good, Kell and Xavier got us open shots off their penetration, and each of our freshmen made some big plays at key times."
STAT LEADERS
Anthony Barnard tied his career-high with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lead the way.
After PNW trailed early in the second period, Barnard stepped up and rattled off eight consecutive points to put the Pride in front for good. The junior from Kokomo, Indiana also grabbed five boards and went 5 of 6 at the free-throw line.
Vincent Miszkiewicz produced another double-double with a career-high 15 points and 14 rebounds to go with five steals. During his PNW debut over the weekend, the 6-foot-7 sophomore averaged 14.5 points and 12.5 boards.

Michigan Tech's Eric Carl led the hosts with 14 points, all of which were scored in the first half.
