HAMMOND, Ind. – 2/6 - PNW at Michigan Tech
The Pride continues their late-season stretch of road matches in Houghton, Michigan, where they will first match up with the Michigan Tech Huskies on Thursday, February 6. The women's game will tip-off at 4:30 p.m. (CT) and will be followed by the men's game at 7 p.m. (CST).
PNW Women's Basketball will come in with a 6-15 overall record, including a 5-8 GLIAC conference record. They were last seen on Saturday, February 1, when they defeated the Davenport Panthers 75-72. The Pride leads the all-time series against Davenport 5-1. Statistical leaders on the season for the Pride include Savaya Brockington, who continues to increase her average team-highs in points per game (13.1), rebounds per game (5), steals per game (1.7) and minutes per game (34.4). Other leaders include Anjel Galbraith, averaging 10 points, 2.9 assists and 1.7 steals in 33.4 minutes per game.
Against the Davenport Panthers, Danielle Nennig led the Pride with 15 points, five rebounds and two assists. Anjel Galbraith recorded 12 points and four rebounds, Molly DeValkenaere 11 points and two blocks, and Brittany Barnard 10 points, three rebounds and a block. Bayley Goodman shot 60% from behind-the-arc for nine key points late in the second quarter.
PNW Men's Basketball will come in with an overall record of 7-14 and 2-11 in the GLIAC. They were last seen on February 1 when they fell 101-71 against the Panthers. Statistical leaders include Jyrus Freels, who has team-highs with 251 points, 118 rebounds, 113 made field-goals and 559 minutes played.
Jordan Doss finished with 22 points on 9-13 shooting. He also led with seven rebounds, four assists and one steal. Franklin Nunn came off the bench and scored 11 points, and Jyrus Freels brought home 10.
Huskies Women's Basketball will host with a 7-13 overall record, 5-8 in the GLIAC. They were last seen losing 85-77 on the road to Saginaw Valley State. They had four scorers produce double figure points against Saginaw Valley State.
Michigan Tech Men's Basketball will be sporting a 14-7 overall record, 8-5 in the GLIAC with an impressive 8-2 winning home record. They come off a tough weekend with two losses in a row. The most recent fell 73-69 to Saginaw Valley State.
2/8 - PNW at Northern Michigan
The Pride will then face the Northern Michigan Wildcats in Marquette, Michigan. The men's game will be tipping off at 12 p.m. (CST) and will be followed by the women's game tip-off at 2 p.m. (CST).
Northern Michigan Women's and Men's Basketball will be fresh off hosting their Thursday evening games against Parkside. The women come into Thursday's game with an 10-11 overall record and 7-6 in the GLIAC. They were last seen Saturday, February 1, when they had a tough road loss against (48-40) Northwood University.
The Wildcat Men's Basketball will be hosting with a 10-11 overall record and 7-6 in the GLIAC. They were last seen Saturday, February 1, when they fell 76-64 against Northwood University.
