ASHLAND 86, PURDUE NORTHWEST 41
The Purdue Northwest Pride finished their weekend on the road by taking on the undefeated, no.2-ranked Ashland University Eagles, ultimately falling with the final score of 86-41.
HOW IT HAPPENED
PNW hung onto the Eagles' shoestrings throughout the first quarter, finishing the first 10 minutes trailing by four points with the score of 14-10. The Pride shot 4-9 from the field and 1-4 from downtown during the quarter.
Molly DeValkenaere came off the bench to help the PNW put up the defense fight early in the game, recording two blocks while pulling down three rebounds and one steal. It wasn't until the third quarter when the Eagles truly surged ahead, outscoring the Pride by 25 points. PNW manged to rally in the final quarter, putting up 14 compared to the Eagles' 20 before the final whistle sounded.

Savaya Brockington scored 11 points in 34 minutes of play.
Danielle Nennig added nine points and three rebounds, and
Kennedy Jackson led the way for the Black in Gold in rebounding, recording four while also bringing home seven points.

PNW finished shooting 15-43 (34.8%) from the field, including 3-14 (21.4%) from three and 8-12 from the charity stripe. Ashland shot 32-61 (52.4%), 4-11 (36.3%) and 18-21 (85.7%), respectfully.

The Pride will now finish up the remaining three games of their season at home, beginning with the Homecoming game against the Ferris State Bulldogs on Thursday, February 20. Tip-off for the Mane Event at the Hammond Fitness and Recreation Center is set for 5 p.m. (CT) with the men's game to follow.
