ASHLAND 94, PURDUE NORTHWEST 57
The Purdue University Northwest Pride finished their weekend on the road by taking on the Ashland University Eagles (16-9, 9-8 GLIAC), battling through the game in a 94-57 victory for the hosting Eagles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride ended the first half of play behind the Eagles, with Ashland up 54-26. PNW shot 8-24 from the field and 5-19 from beyond the three-point arc in the first half. Though they would find some footing in the second half -- trailing Ashland's 40 points with 31 of their own -- Purdue Northwest was unable to close the gap.
WHO LED THE WAY FOR THE PRIDE
Jyrus Freels would lead the way, recording 15 points by shooting 5-6 in field goals and 5-5 from the line. Freels also compiled three rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block in 26 minutes of play.
Jordan Doss put up 11 points while bringing down seven rebounds, and
Anthony Barnard was the other scorer in double-figures with 10.

TEAM STATS
PNW finished 15-56 (26.8%) from the field, including 5-31 (16.1%) from three and 22-29 from the charity stripe. Ashland shot 28-55 (50.9%), 13-29 (44.8%) and 25-34 (73.5%), respectfully. The Black and Gold recorded 22 bench points, 20 points in the paint and seven points off turnovers.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Pride will now finish up the remaining three games of their season at home, beginning with the Homecoming game against the Ferris State Bulldogs on Thursday, February 20. Tip-off for the Mane Event at the Hammond Fitness and Recreation Center is set for 5 p.m. (CST) with the start of the women's game. The men's game will tip-off at 7 p.m. (CST).
