PNW Travels to Take on Lake Superior State

PNW at LSSU tips off first with the women's game at 4:30 p.m. (CT) followed by the men's game at 6:30 p.m. (CT)

HAMMOND, Ind. -- After completing a five-game homestand, the Purdue Northwest Basketball teams hit the road again, this time to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to face the Lake Superior State Lakers on Thursday evening. The women's game tips off at 4:30 p.m. (CT) and will be followed by the men's tip at 6:30 p.m. (CT).
 
The Pride women (4-13, 3-6 GLIAC) are coming off a hard-fought 71-59 loss against Wayne State on Saturday, January 18. In conference play, PNW is led statistically by the trio of Savaya Brockington, Anjel Galbraith and Danielle Nennig, all of whom are averaging double-figures in scoring. Brockington leads with 6.3 rebounds per game; Galbraith leads with 3.6 assists per game; and both Brockington and Galbraith lead with two steals per game. Molly DeValkenaere, Kennedy Jackson and Brittany Barnard have also been key contributors in the starting lineup for Head Coach Courtney Locke.
 
PNW Men's Basketball (7-10, 2-7 GLIAC) comes to Sault Ste. Marie after their emphatic 84-73 victory over Wayne State on Saturday, January 18. Chandler Spring (28) and Timothy Gilmore (27) lit up the Pride scoreboard during the last two games, and hope the hot hands travel with them. Anthony Barnard, who's started the last six games for Head Coach Boomer Roberts, averages 13.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.14 steals in 29.3 minutes per game during conference play. Gilmore is recording 10.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 44.7% from three-point range. The Pride have experienced a balanced offensive presence as of late, getting key contributions up and down the roster. 
 
Lake Superior State Women's Basketball (6-10, 2-7 GLIAC) is coming off a tough 72-39 loss at Northern Michigan on Saturday, January 18. The Lakers' men (6-11, 3-6 GLIAC) were last seen falling 65-40 to Northern Michigan on Saturday, January 18. Lexie Khon leads the women with 11.5 points per game, and Mattison Rayman averages 9.3 points and 9.1 points per game. Jenna Gregory leads with 3.1 assists and 0.7 steals per game.
 
The Laker men are led by two double-digit scorers in Ke'Montrece Collins (14.7) and Nigel Colvin (10.2). Collins leads with 7.4 rebounds, and C.J. Robinson also averages 9.9 points per game in 33.5 minutes per game for LSSU. The women are averaging 50.0 points, 32 rebounds, 9.1 assists, 3.6 steals and 2.4 blocks per game in conference play as a team, and the men are at 70.3 points, 31.2 rebounds 11.7 assists, 5.0 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
