PNW Drops Matchup Against Tiffin

GRIFFITH, Ind. -- The PNW Women's Tennis team took on Tiffin University at the Match Point Tennis & Fitness Complex on Sunday, September 8th. While battling through the afternoon, the Pride fell to a final score of 5-2.

Julia Yanes- Barrera took on her Tiffin opponent in singles match, drawing out the competition top a third set tiebreaker to eventually claim victory. Patricia Dizon also undertook a long campaign in singles to her own tiebreaker but ultimately fell short. The Pride did claim the doubles point with the teams of Olivia Kjaer/Yanes-Barrera and Carolina Yepez/Anna Wachowski both taking victory with scores of 7-5 and 6-2 respectively.

"It was a hard-fought match today across the board," said Head Coach Lucian Tabic. "We were able to strart fast by winning the team doubles points. Dizon went the distance and Yanes-Barrera's efforts definitely paid off."

The Pride will return to the courts on Saturday, September 14 at Dowling Park where they will kick of GLIAC conference play by taking on Wayne State.
