EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue Northwest women's soccer team was defeated 5-0 by the University of Southern Indiana Eagles in the 2019 season opener at Strassweg Soccer Field.
Sophomore Forward Haneen Abdulla (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) took both of the Pride's shots during the game in her 50 minutes of action, the first going wide from the far left wing in the ninth minute and the second that went wide from the top of the box in the 48th minute.
Pride Goalkeeper Bridget Grady (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln Way East) played all 90 minutes and collected four saves in the competition against the Eagles. Senior Defender Rachel Inglese (Crown Point, Ind./Lake Central) was the other PNW player to play all 90 minutes.
The Pride will next be in action on Saturday, September 7 when they face off against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds at the PNW Fall Sports Festival. Kickoff at Dowling Park will be at 11 a.m.
