PNW Ice Hockey Takes on the Purdue Boilermakers

PNW Ice Hockey faced off against Purdue University and Trine Unviversity at the Homewood-Flossmoor Ice Arena

HAMMOND, Ind. -- The PNW Men's Ice Hockey program is well into its opening season. Have its opening games under their belts, the Pride returned to the Homewood-Flossmoor Ice Arena to face off against the Purdue University Boilermakers. In a action-packed evening rocked by engaged fans and the downpour outside, the Pride ended the competition with a final score of 3-10.

Throughout the game, the Pride put up 19 shots on the Boilermakers' goal while goalkeepers No. 20 Zander Zafiro and No. 33 Kyle Fritz collected 44 saves between the two of them.

PNW returned to the ice on Sunday, September 29th where they took on the Trine University Thunder. Dominating the first period with a 2-0 lead, the Thunder were eventually able to rally, taking back the lead in the second period and holding off a PNW resurgence. The Pride did not let this hold them back as they battle it out to the very end of the third period, continuing to put up shots against the Trine goalie. PNW's #13 Cole Bocock put up both of the Pride's goals.

PNW is eager to see where the inaugural season will go for the Pride as they now prepare to take on the University of Akron at the Kankakee Ice Arena on Friday, Octyober 11th. Puck drop will be at 8:15 p.m. (CT).
