Box Score MIDLAND, Mich. -- The PNW Men's Soccer team claimed their first victory of the season over the Northwood Timberwolves with a final score of 1-0. While facing off on Northwood's home field, the Pride collected seven shots on goal with No. 12

In a slow opening half, the Pride and the Timberwolves traded shots on one another's goals to no success. The Pride put up six shots in the first half by No. 35
Alexander Oehrlein, No. 27

Enrique Serna, No. 9
Jaime Garcia, and No. 11
Justin Barragan. Northwood put up only one shot on PNW's goal during the first half of competition, unable to overcome the Pride's defense.
In the second period, the Pride claimed the first and only goal of the game in the 68th minute, holding firm defense against the Timberwolves until the final whistle. Northwood managed to put three shot on the scoresheet before the end of a hard-fought game between them and the Pride.
"Fantastic to get a great result today," said Head Coach
Ryan Hayes. "We've been close in the majority of our games so far this year so it's nice to get one over the line. We had an excellent contribution with four freshmen getting a lot of minutes and the entire team playing its part."
PNW will be back in action on Sunday, September 29th when they face off against Saginaw Valley State in University Center, Mich. at 2:00 PM (CT).
