HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue Northwest Pride Women's Tennis team was defeated in their conference opener by the Wayne State Warriors at Dowling Park on Saturday morning. The Pride lost 7-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles matches.

The Pride will be taking on their first season this year as a full NCAA Division II member, taking on the GLIAC competition of Ashland September 15 followed by a series of inter-conference competitions starting on September 28th when the Pride will travel to Midland, Mich.

PNW will return to action tomorrow, September 15th at home against Ashland University.  Matches begin at 10 a.m. at Dowling Park.
