CLERMONT, Fla. – The Purdue University Northwest softball team wrapped up its PFX Spring Games week with an 8-2 victory over Salem University Saturday afternoon.
The Pride were scheduled to take on New York Tech right after but due to inclement weather it was canceled.
Senior pitcher Mia Stevens (Wheatfield, Ind./Kankakee Valley) earned the win in the circle after entering the game in the third inning and allowing zero runs and just four hits while also brining in a run on a single passed the first baseman.
Zoee Anderson (Lafayette, Ind./Lafayette Jefferson) and Kalyn Learnard (Fairmount, Ill./Catlin) each recorded three hits and two RBI each to lead the offensive attack for the Pride.
Shailen Johnson (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) also brought in two runs to help the Prides best offense this season.
PNW returns to action Wednesday, for its home opener against Trinity Christian at 3pm.
