PNW Takes Home Victory Over Judson University Eagles

Pride takes 94-68 victory over the visiting Eagles

HAMMOND & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest Men's Basketball defeated the Judson University Eagles on New Year's Eve by a score of 94-68.

"It was great to see our focus in practice pay off in a lot of ways today," said Head Coach Boomer Roberts. "The ball was zipping and we passed up good shots for great shots. We held Judson under 40% from the field, and still forced 20 turnovers. We got contributions from everyone who played, but I thought Jordan Doss, Gabe Toombs, and Xavier Hallinan in particular played their best games of the year on both ends. Now we need to carry it over into the rest of this week."

Purdue Northwest powered over Judson, going into halftime leading 42-27. Jordan Doss led on the scoresheet after the first twenty minutes of play with 11 points, shooting 5-6 from the field and pulling down 3 rebounds. Gabe Toombs added seven points for PNW at the half including two of the Pride's four steals. The Pride's aggressive defense forced the Eagles into 10 turnovers and 23% shooting from the field in the half. Purdue Northwest ended the first half shooting 39% from behind the arc compared to the Eagles' 0-6.

PNW finished strong with a 94-68 win over the Eagles, shooting 48% as a team and grabbed 40 rebounds. Doss led the Pride with 18 points and three rebounds. Closely behind was Gabe Toombs with 17 points, seven rebounds and six steals. The Eagles struggled with the Pride's aggressive defense, shooting 9% from behind the arc and committing 20 turnovers. PNW shared the ball well, ending with 21 assists and 52 points off the bench compared to Judson's 15 bench points.

The Pride will be next in action on the road when they take on the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals on Thursday, January 2.
