PNW Hockey Hosts Michigan Wolverines at Bulldog Park

Pride fall to Wolverines 5-1

CROWN POINT, Ind. - - The Purdue Northwest Hockey team hosted the University of Michigan Wolverines and their ACHA D2 team on Saturday, November 9, for an afternoon battle at Bulldog Park in Crown Point, the first collegiate hockey game hosted by the Northwest Indiana region. Freshman Alec Curry (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) scored the game's first goal off the Brandon Prodoehl (Munster, Ind./Munster) and Jack Murphy (Munster, Ind./Munster) assist with 7:30 remaining in the first period, but five Wolverine goals in the second period proved to be the difference. The Pride fell 5-1.

PNW Goaltender Kyle Fritz (Saint Laurent, Quebec, Canada/Vanguard) made 49 saves on the day, as he played the duration of the game. The PNW offense recorded 16 shots on the afternoon, including nine in the first period.

Purdue Northwest Athletics would like to thank all the supporters, volunteers and fans who made the trip to Crown Point this afternoon. Bulldog Park was standing-room only for most of the event.

The Pride will next be in action on Friday, November 15, as they will take on the University of Dayton at Culver Academy. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. (CT).
