HAMMOND, Ind. - - Sunday, October 6th, was Breast Cancer Awareness Day for Purdue Northwest Athletics at Dowling Park. The men's and women's soccer teams sported pink Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts throughout the day, hung pink ribbon and balloons around Pepsi Field, and collected donations from supporters while the Pride took on the Saginaw Valley Cardinals in what would end in a 3-0 defeat for PNW.
Freshman
Brinley Hefty (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere North) took three of the Pride's eight shots in the game, but the aggressive offensive attack of the Cardinals proved too much for the Pride, as they fell 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Midfielder
Kiana Chandler (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) took two good shots in the second half as well for the Pride.
Freshman Goalkeeper
Bridget Grady (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) recorded five saves for the Pride, as she relieved
Leonie Heck (Rösrath, Germany/Albertus-Magnus) at the conclusion of the first half. Heck made two saves in the first half.Â
PNW Women's Soccer will next play at Davenport on Friday, October 11, in Grand Rapids, Mich. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
