HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue Northwest Volleyball program took on the Northern Michigan University Wildcats on their home court, battling it out in four sets before ultimately falling with a final score of 1-3.
The first set began with the Pride and the Wildcats sending points back and forth until coming to a 9-9 tie. NMU then broke open a gap, eventually extending it to a 20-14 led. The Pride rallied it back to a close 22-18 but a series of errors and a kill gave the first set to the Wildcats. PNW maintained a close game in the second set with a 18-18 tie before NMU managed to find their momentum. It was not until the third set that the Pride showed a renewed spirit and took a 25-23 victory, sending the game into its fourth and final set where the Wildcats took a 25-17 win.
The Pride were led on the scoresheet by
Annie Pulizos with 15 kills and three blocks,
Kenzie Duggan with a pair of aces,
Holly Faley with 20 assist and
Danielle Fowler with 23 digs,
PNW will be back in action on Saturday, October 26 when they will host the Michigan Technical University Huskies at 2 p.m. (CT).
