KANKAKEE, Ill. - - The Purdue Northwest Men's Ice Hockey team completed their weekend series with the Lewis University Flyers on Saturday, October 19th, at the Kankakee Ice Arena. After a 2-7 defeat the day before, the Pride excruciatingly battled all game long, including leading for much of the contest before losing to the Flyers 7-6 in overtime.
Pride Goaltender
Kyle Fritz (Saint Laurent, Quebec, Canada/Vanguard) was the glue and guts for the Pride all evening long, playing the entirety of the game and making 49 saves.
The offensive star of the night for PNW was
Dan Oliszewicz (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg). He recorded the first hat trick in program history.
Frankie Hornburg (Imperial, Mo./Seckman) scored two goals for the Pride and
Ethan Bukowski (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) also scored a goal.
Jeremy Lochow (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) collected three assists on the night, leading the Pride.
Xavier Schell (Huntington, Ind./Huntington North), Brandon Fisher (Indian Head, SK, Canada/Indian Head) and
Hunter Jones (Tomahawk, Wisc./Tomahawk) also recorded assists.
PNW Men's Ice Hockey will next be in action on Saturday, October 26th, as they will be facing off with the DePaul University Blue Demons in Chicago. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m. (CT). Â Â
