Pride Men's Tennis is Narrowly Defeated at UIS

Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Ill.—After an even day of singles, Purdue Northwest Men's Tennis dropped a close match against the University of Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars. Although the Pride did not prevail overall, Head Coach Lucian Tabic is confident that the men's team can use today's defeat as a learning experience.

"Today was a day of mixed results- some positives, and some definite areas to improve," said Head Coach Lucian Tabic. "Anytime you get in close situations, you have to make the right plays at the right time. We made some crucial tactical errors that cost us the match. Our players are resilient though, and we will learn from this to continue our progress."

A pair of Freshman were victorious in singles on Sunday morning, as Borja Miralles (Madrid, Spain) defeated Menno Servaes of UIS 7-6, 6-3, and Freshman Miguel Agustin Flores Cepeda (Monterrey, Mexico/Cideb) took down Mattew Lapsley 6-3, 6-3.  Junior Leon Kah also prevailed in singles, winning 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Men's Tennis looks ahead to winter training as they finalize play in the fall season with a 1-1 record.
