Women's Soccer Falls to Davenport Sunday

HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue Northwest (2-9, 0-4 GLIAC) women's soccer team lost their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match 2-0 Sunday against the Davenport Panthers (3-5).

Roheema Bennet got the Panthers on the board in the tenth minute on a high-arcing shot just over the outstretched arms of goalkeeper Kelley Sharp (Seymour, Ind./Seymour).  

The Pride had numerous chances in the first frame, as they tallied seven shots on goal but ultimately weren't able to capitalize.

Ashlyn Skidmore would add another goal for the Panthers in the 75th minute as she headed in a shot off of a Davenport corner kick.

Sharp got the start in goal and made one save. She was relieved in the second half by senior Lucie Ashmore (Greystones, Ireland/St. Gerard's School) who made three saves in 45 minutes of action.

Next up, the Pride will play host to the #14 Ferris State Bulldogs (8-1-2, 2-0-2 GLIAC) Friday, October 5th at 2:30 p.m. (CST).
