Box Score

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Purdue Northwest (1-16, 0-9 GLIAC) volleyball team dropped a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match Saturday at Saginaw Valley State (12-5, 6-3 GLIAC) in three sets.

Carissa Jones (Whiting, Ind./Bishop Noll) and freshman Jenna Dal Santo (St. John, Ind./Andrean) led the way for the Pride with seven kills. Rachel Wilkening (Hebron, Ind./Boone Grove) put together a .222 attack percentage, while Christina Dal Santo (St. John, Ind./Andrean) finished with a team-high 12 digs.

In the first set, PNW was able to keep it tight throughout, pushing the score to 19-18 after a kill from Jones. The Cardinals captured six of the next seven points to capture the first set victory.

The Pride weren't able to get anything going as they lost the second set to SVSU 25-13. In what would be the final set, the Black and Gold pushed the match to extra time, even taking a 24-23 lead on a Jenna Pasko (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) kill. The Cardinals won the next three points to take the victory in the match.

Next up, the Pride will return to John Friend Court to start a three-game homestand with a non-conference tilt against the St. Francis Fighting Saints (7-15, 3-2 CCAC) Tuesday, Oct. 2nd at 7 p.m. (CST).
