Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio – The Purdue University Northwest (2-7, 0-3 GLIAC) women's soccer team was defeated Sunday in a road contest against the Ashland Eagles (7-0-2, 2-0 GLIAC).
The Eagles struck first in the fourth minute as Makenzie Kelly headed a shot in off the pass from Tori Baker to make it 1-0. Hilary Mihalik would add another one in the 40th minute as the Pride went into the half with a two-goal deficit.
Three more Eagles were each able to tally a goal in the second half as PNW was unable to get anything going offensively. Kelley Sharp (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) got the start in goal for the Pride and was able to get 12 saves as she played the full 90 minutes.
Next up, Purdue Northwest will return home for a GLIAC matchup with the #3 Grand Valley State (7-0-1) at Pepsi Field Friday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m. (CST).
