UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Purdue University Northwest (2-6, 0-1 GLIAC) women's soccer team was defeated at the hands of the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals (5-1-1, 1-0 GLIAC) 5-0 at the Robert C. Braddock Field Friday afternoon.

The Pride were thwarted by a hat trick from junior Valentina Giambanco, as she found the back of the net twice in the first half and netted another goal in the 68th minute. 

Lucie Ashmore (Greystones, Ireland/St. Gerard's School) played the duration of the match in goal, and notched a match-high ten saves.

Next up, the Pride will travel to Ohio to take on the Ashland Eagles (5-0-2) Sunday at 11 a.m. (CST).
