Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Purdue University Northwest volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Davenport University Saturday afternoon.
Senior Jenna Pasko (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) led the way for the Pride with nine kills while Carissa Jones (Whiting, Ind./Bishop Noll) recorded eight kills and a .292 attack percentage.
After the Pride took an early 5-3 advantage over the Panthers, DU would answer back on a run of their own to go ahead 11-7.
Davenports lead would grow to as much as eight, but the Black and Gold would climb back to get within two, 20-18, on a service ace from Eudora Negri (Munster, Ind./Munster).
The Panthers would hold on to their lead down the stretch and come away with the 25-19 win in Set 1.
Davenport would keep a consistent lead through out most of the second set, earning the 25-14 win to go ahead 2-0.
The Pride would trail early in Set 3, but a block from Annie Pulizos (Greendale, Wis./ Greendale) and Jenna Pasko would put PNW within two, 12-10, midway through the set.
Davenport would answer back and eventually win the game to earn the 3-0 victory over the Black and Gold.
PNW returns to the court Friday night when they host Ashland University in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest at the Fitness and Recreation Center in Hammond, Ind. at 7 pm (CST).
