Women's Soccer Bested in First GLIAC Contest

HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest women's soccer team lost its match 3-0 Friday at Pepsi Field to the Northern Michigan Wildcats

Sophomore Jenna Halonen was the leader on the day for NMU, as she got loose for two goals in the first half. Forward Taelor Moore added another in the 20th minute.

Lucie Ashmore (Greystones, Ireland/St. Gerard's School) and Kelley Sharp (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) each spent a half in goal, with Ashmore taking the first half and Sharp taking the second half. Sharp was able to keep a clean sheet for the duration of the second half.

Next up, the Pride will play host to the Michigan Tech Huskies (3-1-1, 1-0 GLIAC) Sunday at 12 p.m. (CST).
