MIDLAND, Mich. -- The Purdue University Northwest (2-2-1, 0-1-0 GLIAC) men's soccer team was defeated in the team's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match 1-0 by the Northwood Timberwolves (3-2, 1-0 GLIAC) Friday at Dean Field.

The first 45 minutes ended scoreless, as PNW had shots on goal from Martin Llamas (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) and Josue Espinoza (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young). 

On a corner kick from Lucas Neves, Northwood was able to take the advantage on a goal from junior Ben Campbell in the 78th minute. 

Pride goalkeeper Raul Garrido Garcia (Madrid, Spain/Menesiano) managed to make eight saves as he registered all 90 minutes in goal. 

Next up, PNW will travel to Marquette, Mich. to take on the Northern Michigan Wildcats Sunday, Sept. 16 at 12 p.m. (CST).
