Women's Soccer Falls to UIndy in Non-Conference Match

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Purdue University Northwest women's soccer team dropped a 9-0 decision to the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds Friday.

Emily Del Campo notched the first goal of the match in the 12th minute to give UIndy a 1-0 lead. Del Campo's goal was quickly followed by a Stephanie Burdsall goal to give the Greyhounds a 2-0 advantage.

Senior Marisa Jayne's shot attempt was saved by goalkeeper Caitlynn Mackenzie to keep UIndy ahead 2-0, but the Greyhounds would tack on one more goal to go into the half with a 3-0 lead.

Goalkeeper Lucie Ashmore played all 90 minutes and tallied seven saves in her first start of the season.

The Black and Gold return to action Tuesday against Lawrence Tech in Southfield, Michigan at 6 P.M. CST.
