Box Score SAGINAW, Mich. -- The Purdue University Northwest men's soccer team (5-6-1, 3-5 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) dropped a 3-0 decision at Braddock Soccer Field against GLIAC opponent Saginaw Valley State (8-1-3, 6-1-1 GLIAC) on Sunday.
Saginaw Valley got on the scoreboard in the 18th minute as Brian Sockow found Bradley Walker for the back of the net to give the Cardinals the 1-0 advantage. SVSU went into the half with a 1-0 lead.
SVSU wasted no time to start the second half, as Michael Hamilton gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead with his goal in the 45th minute.
The Cardinals got an insurance goal in the 83rd minute as Liam Travels knocked one home to give SVSU a 3-0 lead.
Senior goalkeeper Bradley Brack (Crown Point, Ind./Merrillville) had the start in goal, played 54 minutes, recorded two saves in the match. Freshman Raul Garrido-Garcia (Madrid, Spain/Menesiano) played the remainder of the match, allowed one goal while picking up four saves.
PNW returns to action Sunday, October 14 as the Pride host Parkside at Pepsi Field inside Dowling Park, match time scheduled for noon.
