Women's Soccer Drops Match to Parkside Sunday

KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Purdue University Northwest women's soccer team (4-12) dropped a non-conference match to host Parkside (5-9-2), 4-0, at Wood Road Field in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Sunday.

Maddison Te Stroete got the Rangers on the board as she found the back of the net from the cross from Maycee Kroening and pass in from Viktoria Silva in the fifth minute.

Kroening was able to get in the scoring column herself as she had a one-on-one and made a goal in the 16th minute.

Delaney Benich gave Parkside a 3-0 lead with her goal in the 52nd minute.

After assisting on a goal earlier in the match, Silva was able to beat some defenders and find the back of the net to make it 4-0.

Early in the second half, senior Shayla McNeal (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) looked to make it a one score game but her shot was saved by Lara Ferari in the 46th minute. PNW had another chance to score in the 81st minute as Sydney Hanson (Alma, Mich./Alma) had a shot attempt that was saved by Lara Ferrari.

Freshman Halle Stork (Stanwood, Mich./Big Rapids) recorded the loss in goal for PNW, playing the first 45 minutes, allowing two goals and picking up two saves. Kelley Sharp (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) played the second half in goal, allowed two goals and recorded three saves.

PNW returns to action Friday, October 26 as the Pride host Davenport at Pepsi Field inside Dowling Park, with match time scheduled at noon CT.
