Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Purdue Northwest women's volleyball team (2-19, 0-11 GLIAC) was defeated Friday in three sets by the Quincy Hawks in its first match of the Midwest Region Crossover at the Academy Volleyball Club.
Jenna Pasko (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) led the way for the Pride with 10 kills in the match, while freshman Abigail Negri (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) put up 20 assists for the Pride in the first start of her collegiate career.
After an even start, the Hawks won four consecutive points to make it 8-4 Quincy. PNW would continue to battle but was never able to overcome the deficit as they fell 25-18 on a kill from Sarah Brown.
Quincy jumped all over the Pride in the second set as they were never able to establish a rhythm and were defeated 25-14 in the second set.
The Pride rallied in the third set and even made it 15-14 after a kill from Jenna Pasko. Quincy would take seven of the next eight points and would go on to win the third set and clinch the match by a final of 25-16.
PNW will play its final two matches of the Midwest Region Crossover Saturday as they face Lake Erie College at 9 am (CST) and Ohio Dominican at 4 pm (CST) before returning to Hammond.
