HAMMOND, Ind. & WESTVILLE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Northwest men's tennis team begins its season at home as the Pride host Judson University (Ill.) at Dowling Park Saturday.
The Eagles (1-0) will take on the Pride (0-0) at Dowling Park's Community Hosptial Tennis Complex starting at 9 a.m. CT.
The men's team will participate in five matches this fall as well as the ITA Regionals at GVSU as a tune-up before its championship season, which begins in the spring.
2016 REVIEW
PNW men's tennis is coming off an 11-7 season, where they advanced to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Semifinals. The Pride were led by Moritz Gisy (Duesseldorf, Germany) a year ago as Gisy went 10-1 in singles competition and 8-4 in doubles competition. Ulf Grosseloh (Maximiliansau, Germany) went 11-4 in singles competition. Jonluke Passett (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandberg) went 11-5 in singles competition and 4-1 in doubles competition. Diego Pimentel (Guayaquil, Ecuador) went 10-6 in singles.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
The Judson Eagles are 1-0 so far this season, coming off a 6-3 victory against Goshen College (Ind.) on Aug. 26.

The Pride look to defeat the Eagles for the first time in school history on Saturday.
FALL SPORTS FESTIVAL
For the second straight year, the Purdue University Northwest Athletics Department will host its annual Fall Sports Festival at Dowling Park in Hammond, Ind. The Fall Sports Festival, which takes place on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 12 to 4 p.m., will feature six different Pride teams competing on their respective fields. In addition to the competitions, the festival will feature a number of other family-friendly activities, including a t-shirt giveaway, performances by the PNW Cheer & Dance teams, inflatables, meet & greets with Pride student-athletes and Leo the Lion, local food trucks and more. Admission is free to all and the gates open at 11 a.m.
