GRIFFITH, Ind. -- Senior Abby Kvackhoff (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) picked up her third straight victory at No. 6 singles as the Purdue University Northwest women's tennis team dropped its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) finale to Wayne State (Mich.), 8-1, Sunday at Match Point in Griffith, Ind. Kvackhoff picked up the victory against Wayne State's Astrid Ciellza in a three-set thriller, 6-2, 1-6, 10-4, to improve to 9-4 on the season. 

The Warriors took all three doubles matches to start the contest to build a 3-0 advantage going into singles competition.  Lena van Bergen (Wesel, Germany) and Brooke Foltz (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) fought hard at No. 1 doubles, but ultimately fell against WSU's Dasha Kuznetsova, 8-6. 

Carolina Yepez (Guayaquil, Ecuador) won a game in each of her sets, but dropped her match to Wayne State's Liz Ghellere, 6-1, 6-1.  Anna Wachowski (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) won two games in the first set, but lost her match to the Warriors' Irena van Meer, 6-2, 6-0.

PNW has concluded its fall season. The Pride return to action on Friday, Feb. 16, as they travel to Chicago to take on the Chicago State University Cougars.
