Box Score MARQUETTE, Mich. – A goal on a penalty kick by Mirko Nufi with just over 11 minutes remaining in regulation completed the scoring as the Purdue University Northwest men's soccer team dropped a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) game to Northern Michigan University, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at NMU Soccer Field in Marquette, Mich.
Both teams each finished with 10 total shots, but the Wildcats held the slight advantage on the Pride in shots on goal, 4-3. Freshman Noel Keeble (Dyer, Ind./Home School) played all 90 minutes in goal for PNW and recorded two saves. Northern Michigan's first goal of the game came in the 25th minute on a shot by Nick Metcalfe.
Junior Jonny Harkin (Birmingham, England/College of St. Scholastica), sophomore Grant Ugarte (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) and freshman Isaiah Nieves (Lyons Township, Ill./Lyons Township) each notched a shot on goal for Purdue Northwest.
The Pride (3-8-2 overall/2-7-1 GLIAC) returns home and hosts league-leading Northwood University (Mich.) on Sunday, October 22, for its final regular season home game. The conference game is scheduled for a noon CT start at Pepsi Field in Dowling Park in Hammond, Ind. Prior to the game, PNW will honor its 2017 senior class in a special ceremony in recognition of Senior Day.
