Purdue University Northwest Athletic Director Rick Costello has announced the hiring of Micah Lowe as the first-ever Women's Flag Football Head Coach.
On behalf of Purdue University Northwest Pride, I am thrilled to announce that Micah Lowe will serve as our inaugural Flag Football Coach," said Rick Costello, Director of Athletics. "Micah distinguished himself during the selection process with his enthusiasm, energy, and passion for the sport of Flag Football. I am looking forward to him leading this new program, recruiting exceptional student-athletes to PNW, and contributing to the continued growth of this rapidly expanding sport."
Lowe comes to Purdue Northwest with a strong football and athletic development background with a proven ability to enhance player performance. He is the current owner and Executive Director of the Hands Team Academy based in Chicago, Illinois where he has been since 2018. The Hands Team Academy was founded as a premier skills development program designed to elevate athletes to the next level, gaining global recognition and media features on ESPN and other major sports outlets. He also built the program to help design and implement specialized training regimens to improve hand-eye coordination, endurance, and position-specific skills.
Lowe brings a wealth of flag football experience to Hammond, Indiana having founded the first elite travel women's flag football team in the state of Illinois. His team recently finished fifth at the world's largest flag football tournament in Tampa, Florida. Lowe has also dedicated himself to developing flag football talent, training numerous athletes and helping several reach the collegiate level. In 2022, Lowe was ranked as the tenth best wide receiver trainer in the United States by USA Top 100.

As a football player, Lowe played his collegiate ball at North Park University for two seasons as a wide receiver and was a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics. The Columbus, Ohio native earned his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management in 2020.
