Harsha joins Purdue Northwest Track & Field as the throws coach in his first season for 2025-26.
Mark Harsha brings more than 30 years of coaching and athlete-development experience to the throwing events. He has served as a head or assistant track and field coach since 1989, including multiple stints as Head Coach at Portage High School, and is the founder and head coach of Gold Medal Throws Club.
Throughout his career, Harsha has coached more than 50 Indiana State Championship finalists, seven state champions, a two-time national high school shot put champion, and a national high school indoor weight throw All-American. His athletes have achieved elite marks in the shot put and discus at both the state and national levels.
Harsha is a USATF Level 1 certified coach and Emerging Elite Instructor in the throws, a Hall of Fame member of the Indiana Association of Track and Cross-Country Coaches, and a frequent presenter at state and national coaching conferences.
