Purdue Northwest Athletics has named Devin VerVoort as the new Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Pride.
"We're thrilled to welcome our new head strength and conditioning coach to the team!" Â said Assistant Athletic Director for Student Services, Natalie Jarrett. "Devin brings experience and enthusiasm that will continue to elevate our student-athletes to new heights of performance and achievement on and off the field."
Devin comes to Hammond after serving as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Howard Payne University in Texas the past year. While there, he oversaw programming and training for 12 teams on campus.
"I am very excited to be a part of the Purdue Northwest athletic staff and leading the strength and conditioning department, " said VerVoort. "I look forward to helping move the needle within athletics and to help the student-athletes develop and achieve their goals in their sports."
Prior to his time at Howard Payne, he spent the summer of 2023 working as a strength and conditioning intern for Olympic sports with the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
A 2022 graduate of Carroll University in Waukesha, WI, Devin has worked as the lead human performance coach with the Carroll University women's basketball teams, and women's and men's golf programs.
Working through Ethic Sports Performace, VerVoort also served as the head strength and conditioning coach for Whitnall High School in Wisconsin.Â
He spent time serving as track and field sprints coach at Waukesha West High School. His experience has gained avenues of working with youth, high school, college, and professional athletes.
After receiving his exercise science degree from Carroll University, Devin completed a Masters of Sports Physiology and Performance Coaching from Carroll in August of 2023.
He is a USAW Level 1 Coach, a NASM Certified personal trainer, and holds NSCA-CSCSÂ and First Aid/CPR/AEDÂ certifications.
