Purdue University Northwest Athletic Director Rick Costello has announced the promotion of Jake Nietfeldt to head coach of the Men's and Women's Golf programs. Nietfeldt recently served as the interim head coach for the 2022-23 season.

Alex Bishop (Litchfield, Ill./Litchfield) securing the first-ever GLIAC Men's Golf Individual Championship. I am excited for Jake to continue to lead and grow the men's and women's golf programs at Purdue Northwest."
During his interim role, Nietfeldt coached the men's golf team to a GLIAC Semi-final appearance, their first ever, and
Alex Bishop(Litchfield, Ill./Litchfield) to winning the GLIAC Men's Golf Individual Championship providing the Purdue Northwest Pride their first GLIAC trophy in golf program history. Nietfeldt played a crucial role in enhancing individual performances as evidenced by
Margaux Catafort-Silva (France)'s record round of 73 and
Alex Bishop's (Litchfield, Ill./Litchfield) record low round of 65 at the GLIAC Championships.
"I want to thank Rick Costello and Purdue University Northwest for the opportunity to coach the men's and women's golf teams," said Nietfeldt. "I am excited to have this opportunity and I am looking forward to leading the teams to success. I believe we have a strong foundation in place and I am looking forward to continuing to grow the programs."
Prior to his interim role, Nietfeldt served as the assistant golf coach for both golf programs where he helped coordinate practice schedules, travel arrangements and recruiting sessions alongside head coach.
Nietfeldt earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Purdue Northwest in May 2021 where he was a four-year Academic Achievement Scholarship Recipient, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a Resident Assistant in the University Village.
