Rose Howell is entering her second season as the men's and women's assistant cross-country coach for the 2018-2019 season.

Howell, an Atlanta, Ga. native, before arriving at PNW, Howell served as a graduate assistant coach for the NCAA Division III University of La Verne (Calif.) cross country and track and field programs from 2015-17. During her tenure, Howell helped an athlete achieve SCIAC All-Conference honors and another qualify for the NCAA Division III West Region Championships. On the track, Howell coached a freshman to two SCIAC Championships in the 3000m steeplechase culminating in a NCAA Diviision III National Championships steeplechase qualification. The men's and women's team earned USTFCCCA All-Academic recognitions in Howell's time at ULV. 

Prior to La Verne, Howell competed as a student-athlete for NCAA Division II Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. On the cross country course, Howell earned two All-Sunshine State Conference honors as well as a 3x NCAA All-Region awards. Howell also competed at the NCAA Division II National Championships in 2013 and 2014 running a personal best of 18:24 in the 5000m. As a track and field athlete, Howell earned three All-Conference honors for her performances in the 3k steeplechase at the Peach Belt Conference Championships. 

Howell is USA Track and Field Level 1 certified, Howell earned a Bachelor's of Science in business administration from Nova Southeastern and recently completed a Master's of Business Administration with a concentration in management and leadership from the University of La Verne.
