Purdue Northwest Athletics achieved a remarkable milestone, raising more than $508,000 during the university's annual Day of Giving. This new record surpasses the previous high of $424,000 set in 2024 and highlights the unwavering strength, generosity, and dedication of the PNW Athletics community.
The total for PNW Athletics during Day of Giving has grown to over $1,800,000 over the last five years which directly impacts the lives of our amazing student-athletes across all 23 athletic programs. "This record-setting PNW Day of Giving is a testament to the passion and commitment that defines Purdue Northwest Athletics," said Rick Costello, Director of Athletics. "Our student-athletes, coaches and staff once again rose to the occasion and showcased what it means to be part of the Pride of PNW. I am incredibly thankful for the continued support from our alumni, donors, corporate champions and fans who believe in our mission. This generosity fuels our ability to provide a first-class experience for our student-athletes and continues to elevate our NCAA Division II program to new heights."
The PNW Pride raised over $508,000 in just 24 hours on April 29th, a 20% increase over the prior year. Furthermore, Athletics hosted a highly successful and competitive Team Challenge during Day of Giving, recording a historic 1,557 gifts, 50% of total gifts and the most gifts of any unit at Purdue University Northwest.

About Purdue Northwest Athletics
PNW Athletics consists of 530 student athletes with 23 sports and is a current member of NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Intercollegiate athletic teams are fielded in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, esports, men's and women's golf, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, softball, STUNT, women's flag football and women's volleyball.  Over 530 student-athletes train and compete in the Fitness and Recreation Center on the Hammond campus. PNW has secured 21 total championships since moving to NCAA Division II in 2016-17.  Academically, PNW student-athletes have achieved 20 consecutive semesters, 10 straight years, of academic excellence with a combined GPA of 3.0 or above as of fall 2025.
